DESS is a programme designed to provide financial support to Chinese Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine undergraduates who have an interest in equine studies.
Open to students at seven of China’s leading agricultural universities (Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, Xinjiang Agricultural University, China Agricultural University, Qingdao Agricultural University, Nanjing Agricultural University, Wuhan Business College and South China Agricultural University), DESS will provide financial support to final year students who have completed a placement with a horse club or company.
Scholarship recipients will be chosen according to GPA results combined with their application form. Each recipient will be awarded RMB 15,000 to cover their tuition fees and living expenses during their final year of university.
Godolphin director Joe Osborne said, “These scholarships are part of our ongoing efforts to support the breeding, care and training of horses in China and to promote student interest in those areas. We hope they will encourage students to get involved in caring for horses as part of their studies in animal science and veterinary medicine.”
