DITI graduate, Renshuai Yi, will join the Darley Flying Start programme

The Darley Flying Start has announced the 2016-2018 intake of trainees for the two-year scholarship. The group comprises 12 young students from six different countries including one DITI graduate, Renshuai Yi.

The course is provided to trainees to learn and experience management operations and leadership in the global Thoroughbred industry.

Renshuai was born in Wuhan, central China. He has had an interest in horses since childhood and he learned about the horse racing industry at high school.

Being fascinated by the thoroughbred industry, he studied a horse racing related major in the International School of Equestrian in Wuhan Business University and then went on to gain a masters degree of Applied Equine Science in the Royal Agricultural University ,UK in 2015.

He was a DITI intern based at Darley Japan from August 2015 until April 2016. During the nine month internship he gained hands on experience as well as learning about the global thoroughbred industry and Sheikh Mohammed’s vision.

Speaking of his enrolment of Flying Start, Renshuai said: “I was so excited when I heard this news, I am so grateful to all the people who helped me. I have learned a lot during DITI and the Flying Start will be a new journey for me. I understand I will face different challenges during the programme, but I know all of these will make me stronger.”

He will be flying to Ireland to start the educational programme in August by which time the course will be rebranded to Godolphin Flying Start.
