About Godolphin

Godolphin is the international racing stable of the Maktoum family and has delivered a host of major victories throughout the world since being founded by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 1992.

The visionary operation has achieved over 200 G1 wins in 12 different countries across four continents – Asia, Australasia, Europe and North America – and Godolphin’s famous royal blue silks have become synonymous with racing at the very highest level.

Starting out with a handful of horses, Godolphin has grown to become one of the dominant forces in world racing, with nine British Champion owner titles, an Eclipse Award for leading owner in North America and a plethora of accolades at the world’s premier meetings.

Horses trained by Godolphin include outstanding performers Balanchine, Lammtarra, Daylami, Swain, Fantastic Light, Sakhee, Shamardal and the great Dubai Millennium.

The majority of Darley stallions have previously raced for Godolphin, including current leading sires Cape Cross, Shamardal, Iffraaj and Dubai Millennium’s son Dubawi. Exciting recent additions Farhh, Poet’s Voice and Dawn Approach also represented Godolphin before joining Darley.

Godolphin’s trainers Saeed bin Suroor and Charlie Appleby have their home bases in Dubai and train from there during the winter months moving to the historic Newmarket yards of Godolphin Stables and Moulton Paddocks throughout the British summer.

John O'Shea was appointed Godolphin's head trainer in Australia in August 2014. The establishment of Godolphin in Australia has made it the largest horseracing operation in the southern hemisphere, with stables located in Sydney and Melbourne. Godolphin also has horses in training in Australia with Anthony Freedman.

Andre Fabre and Henri-Alex Pantall prepare horses for Godolphin in France, while the American team are with trainers Kiaran McLaughlin, Eoin Harty and Tom Albertrani. Jim Bolger, Michael Halford and Willie McCreery have charge of Godolphin horses in Ireland.

Godolphin, sponsored by Emirates Airline, is proud to help promote Dubai around the world.
